I wouldn't try to get near his gums...all I can really do is just make sure his place is safe...move him away from hard objects....hold his head. I have found that ice cream when he is coming out of it really helps...but afterwards...when it is almost over. I usually wake them up if I am right there because of the experience with Nugget...sometimes he will do this right before a seizure hits so it scares me to death that the others might have the same issue...they never have so far...but it just makes me uncomfortable!...i know...i know...a little over-protective huh???? I've heard it said that when a dog cries in their sleep it means they are in pain. If that is true, how do you know the difference between just a bad dream or they are really in pain? Any thoughts?.... ♥ Peggy & The Girls ♥
