Phonobarbitol is a very old and simple compounding and has been out-of-patent for ages. The drug itself costs virtually nothing in chihuahua sized doses, comparable to aspirin. What you may have to pay the vet for providing it will vary. We had our little chihuahua Bonere on it for ages and he did fine.
