My Zoey has luxating patellas and our vet said she could stay without surgery
her whole life. I don't want to get surgery for her unless it is absolutely
necessary. She is doing fine. I don't let her jump on and off things, we have
doggy stairs for her. Only once in a blue moon do they act up and when they do
I
give her the anti-inflamatories the vet gave me.

Must disagree. Am sitting here looking at my chihuahua whose luxating patella
did not get worse at all, over a period of 14 years, with no special treatment
or precaution. Did not get 'better', just stayed stable at a painfree Stage 1.
