Thanks Joan, I bet you are right. Since it has been cold she has not been
outside a lot and is only allowed on the lawn so she is probably also confused
as why does she now get  to walk on the sidewalk. nan

Desi would not walk on a leash.  He would run around the house with it on, but
as soon as I put him on the sidewalk…STOP.  He would take a couple steps and
then stop.  So, I was walking and Dolly was walking and as long as I kept going
slowly ahead he would follow.  After while he did start walking in front.  I
think that when they stand on the sidewalk and look ahead it may be kind of
scary…in the house they see a wall, but on the sidewalk nothing…and maybe that
scares them.

Ladies,

I have never had problems leash training my dogs, but Maggie just puts the
brakes on and does not want to do it. I let Abbey go in front, I have dangled
treats in front of her. I have been working and working with her and she is so
stubborn (but I love that about her too). She learns every thing else so easy
so what am I doing wrong - please help me!!!!! I feel like I have never owned!
a dog before!
