Hmmmm....anyone ever had a Roomba? I had one a few years back and my dogs
loved to ride on it...it was hilarious...and I could sit and laugh while my
floors got cleaned!! Loved that thing till it bit the dust!!

Hmm…I almost blew the motor on mine when I tried to vacuum up broken
glass…perhaps the pieces were too big (they were!). I haven’t had any clogs or
belts breaking or anything. But…I think that vacuum cleaners are like other
things…so many are perfect and then so many are duds. The only thing that I
don’t like about the Oreck is something about it that Dolly hates it. Dolly
has been in the master bedroom and I just pick the Oreck up and set it about an
inch away and she can hear that. If she sees me just carrying it, she almost
attacks it, and if I am not holding her in my left arm when I am pushing the
Oreck with the right arm, she will just continue to charge at it and sometimes
even jumps up on it to attack the bag. She doesn’t mind the Hoover FloorMate
but she absolutely hates the Oreck!

I have an Oreck, it seems to clog allot. Even a small piece of paper will
clog the Vac. It does a good job at dirt, as for hair, I am up in the air about
that. Depending on what model of Oreck you buy, they include xx # number of
years of free cleaning of the vac.

Yes for the animals. There are several of their vacuums that are super
good. or try a Oreck, it is better than a Hoover but not as good as a Dyson

I just read the comments on the Dyson site and they weren't good.
People complained about parts breaking, so i already changed my mind on theirs.
Maybe I will just get another Hoover.

My sister bought the animal a few years ago. It broke, they replaced
it 3 times, she final;y gave up and got her money back and bought a Hoover.

They have several types now, including an upright and canister
called Animal, that is suppose to be designed just for pet hair. I am going to
shop around in the stores and take a look at them. I would really love to have
one that is much more quiet then the Hoover was, that thing could wake the dead
it was so loud, but it did a good job for 5 years.

Yes, it works on carpet and all other floors also. you can
switch between carpet and bare floor. It is amazing for pet hair. Dyson will
let you return any product you don't like. They are expensive but for me worth
every cent

I'm also in need of a new vacuum, does the all floor mean
it works on carpet and tile floors? and good for pet hair? It sounds to good to
be true.

My Dyson is a Dyson All Floors. I love it. It has tons of
attachments and a low under the furniture piece also. It is so light weight too

A Lindhaus is a Swedish vacuum...it's my upstairs one and
has tools on board. I bought it because of my parrots...lots of seeds, nuts,
feathers and tiny wood chunks. It handles everything really well including bird
molting fluff. It has been going strong now for 7 years and is always
trustworthy...the only thing I have ever come close to the power and
reliability of my Kirby...but kirbys are sooooooo heavy and have no inboard
tools. The Lindhaus is very light!!

I had a Kirby years and years ago when they use to sell
them door to door. Don't think they do anymore, at least not here anyway.
Never heard of a Lindhaus

Okay, I am taking a much needed survey.....My
Hoover died today thanks to Princess's gorgeous fur!

Not only did I clean out the part where the belt
goes and had to use the dog comb to get all the fur off of the brush, and
changed the belt, but then when I opened the motor, I was shocked to see that
everything was embedded with her fur. So I need a machine that can really suck
up her fur without killing it's motor guts, lol!

What Brand and Model# do you all use? Are you very
happy with your vacuum cleaner, especially for dog fur?
