I have an Oreck for my downstairs. It is loud but I love it because it is so light weight. I don't like not having the on board hose attachment though...with bird stuff everything seems to blow to the edges...I don't have a lot of dog hair...after Toby the ESS went to live back with my daughter...he was my fur dog...everyone else has more human like hair so no shedding. I have a dear friend who has 8 huge Samoyeds.....the hair in her home is crazy. Everything is white all the time and when I go over to visit I know all of me as well as any of my fur babies I take will be white by the time we get home!! Lol! I love dogs...you guys all know I am nuts that way...but I seriously doubt I would be happy living with that much hair!!!!
