I probably wouldn’t use it. Rice and/or pure pumpkin is natural…it is not a drug. My 9 lb Chi had stomach problems in November and the vet gave me some liquid Tagament…it soothes the stomach lining. I have given my 7 lb Chi the pure pumpkin mixed with a little pedialyte and it worked rather quickly. But, sometimes diarrhea is for a reason, and using something such as Pepto Bismol or Immodium is introducing something to stop the diarrhea and not something to get the reason gone and soothe the stomach lining. In fact, the pumpkin works for diarrhea and constipation…it is just a good food for the stomach.
Maybe you can call your vet…they may have an answering service that could have a vet call you and tell you what they would recommend. We just have to be very careful with our little ones.
