Today is the first day I have not gone home at lunch to let the girls out for a
potty break. I just laid down in my car. Geez this darn bug zapped me good.
I called the shelter, and yes it is a high kill shelter. The little female I
was going to get today is still there. The second person didn't show. They said
they were going to pull her from the adoption list and put her in one of there
adoption day things. They asurred me she would not  be put in the kennels where
Vida was.
No Vida was not Spayed when I got her no shots either. She still needs them
done as soon as she is okayed on being healthy enough. Now if I had gone
through the shelters adoption she would have been, but we all know her chances
of being adopted in the condition she was in was a big ZERO...
Yes I do have mixed feelings about letting Vida go! She is more attached to me
them I am to her, but I do love the little stinker.. She has such a
personality!  I know if it doesn't work out she will come back.  I am sure Dani
will miss playing with her, as Smidgen & Chassis don't play with her like Vida
does.  Part of me will be sad, but I feel great to have saved one..

Hi Beth, That is really sweet of you to be certain someone else is gong to be
adopting the other little rescue girl.  Didn't you say it is a high kill
shelter? (sad) Was your Vida spayed when you got her? I can see where it
could get pretty expensive for an individual, considering the adoption fee, the
spaying fee you listed and then if they develop any other illness after
bringing home such as happened with Vida.  It sounds as though Dani and Vida
have happily bonded (sweet).  I bet you will miss her and have mixed feelings.
Will Vida have anyone to play with at your ex's, other than your ex (lol)?

Hi Lynn, I did call to confirm there is another person that is on the list.  I
will also call this morning to confirm that the second person did in fact get
her out. I am going to call here in a moment, cause the time was 10:00 am.
Its 55.00 for the adoption and about 90-100 for the spay fee. You go pay the
adoption fee to the shelter and then pick up the dog at the vet the next day
from being spayed.
Vida doesn't even look like she was ever starved. Her and Dani have a blast
running around playing. I will miss her.. But just knowing the joy she will
give my ex will make it all worth it.

Oh good, Beth.  It must feel good you have the reassurance she (other
rescue) will be getting out of that awful place.  Like you said, if your bank
account was as big as your heart -- as you have seen firsthand how much
unexpected expense on your budget can be involved in rescue, especially now
with your poor Smidgen infected with k c also, hopeful your other girls will be
able to fight it off on their own. Yet, I cannot get over how wonderful Vida
looks in the short amount of time she has been in your care (and loved).
Healing wishes for your whole household.

Oh Thank you Lynn, yes that is why I am pulling my name on the other rescue I
was going to do today. I am not feeling well and to bring another one in to the
house is a risk. She is super cute, so I am sure she will get a great home.
That is if she was not reunited with her owners. I went and saw her last
Monday, she was on a hold till today. I was put on the list 1st, but there were
others that had called in, even some rescues were on her list. So no doubts she
will get out of the shelter and not like Vida who was in there for over 2 weeks.

So hope you will be on the mend soon Beth.  And poor little Smidgen, gee, I
really hope the meds clear up her kennel cough infection really soon and it
does not transfer to your other girls..  It sounds a little scary.
Prayers..........

Hi everyone, Vida is doing great!! But My sweet Smidgen has come down with the
kennel cough now.. I have called the vet to get more medication for her. I am a
bit concerned for her cause I can hear her little heart beating so hard. She is
eating and drinking, but her heart is really beating fast! It doesn't help that
I am sick today too..
I am here at work but I don't think I can stay.. Thought I would start feeling
better, but Not....
