I'll probably be laying in bed thinking and smiling that all these babies
have such caring moms and will be cared for...not all are so lucky

Hi Kari and Eileen,

I am on the worry wagon too! My Smidgen has a heart murmur also. Not sure
if you have seen some of my post, but she recently got kennel cough from a
rescue chi I saved. It went in too pneumonia. I could hear the swooshing
of all the fluid in her little chest. Smidgen goes back for a re check on
Saturday, Praying she has many years left with me!!
Smidgen is 9. She was my 1st Chi. She is so sweet!!
Praying for your babies!!
Beth

Hi Eileen,
I just joined the group today. My name is Kari. I live alone with my 5
Chihuahuas--Piper, Pollie, Presley, Peyton and Paris.

Pollie was born with all kinds of deformities and I didn't know until she
was about 8 months old that she was so messed up. She was born with
deformed hips, legs, knees, trachea, spine and an enlarged heart. I just found
out
about the heart problem last year. She's had two hip surgeries so that she
can walk. Her heart is so large it takes up more than 50% of her chest
cavity. She's on Enalapril for her heart every day and so far she's doing
well. She's got a murmer too. I understand how you feel about your baby. if
she only had the heart murmer and not the giant heart, my vet said she could
live for many years to come like that.

Pollie is the smallest white Chi.

Kari

I visited the vet this morning, for a regular check-up with Timon who is
12 almost 13 in a couple of months. She discovered that he has a very
slight heart murmur and she said that it was nothing to worry about, but I
can't
not worry about it because he is my baby or my husband (who passed away
last year) would always say he was momma's boy. Having to do with the fact
that I have loved and nurtured Timon ever since he was rescued at 6 weeks
of age, he has been the one to stick by my side and decided that he was the
man of the house since my husband passed away last year. I just can't take
anything happening to him right now or any of my other chi babies.
