To make a comfortable E collar I take old tube socks,  stuff them with more 
old socks and pin them into an adjustable bagel shape that  fits around the 
dogs neck. Comfortable, washable and free!!! I did this to keep  him away 
from his butt when he had inflamed anal  sacs.
