I think that is a great idea!, although I don't think that I personally would want to use a pin, if you were referring to a safety-pin. I would too afraid an accident could happen if the pin opened up. Sewing velcro on it to secure it, would be my choice. And it would have to be a pretty wide band for my Gigi, so she couldn't reach her butt.
