Hi Carolyn,
The place where I go to get my dogs nails cut is in Hemet. I no longer live in
San Diego. I wish I did when it gets hot up here. I don't know if you know
where Hemet/San Jacinto is. It is in Riverside County about 90 miles from San
Diego. We have an awesome vet here too. He charges $35 for an office visit and
he is so good. If you are ever up this way, I will give you the number to the
groomer.
Take Care, Tracy

hi beth,
i know lakeside area well. my best friend lived off los coaches rd and my dad
lived in Santee. i left san diego in 1987 but went right back and then moved to
San Jacinto in 1995 and have been here every since. I am happy here but I would
like to find somewhere that isn't so hot but doesn't snow!! I think I will be
here forever!! My uncle lives in Ramona and my aunt works in Santee. We go to
see them every few months.
I know I have my hands full with my 2 little ones. I need to take them to get
their nails cut. I just can't do it and I go to a place that is $2! So, you
can't beat that price.
Have a good weekend.

I moved here in 1985 from San Diego. Lived down there in a little town called
Lakeside most of my life.
We live mainly up in Eucalyptus Hills. My 2 brothers and my mom are still down
in that area, so I go down every so often. We always head down there for
Halloween at the Gas Lamp District. So much fun!
Yes I do have my hands full with all my critters, but I love it! They all sleep
with me. LOL, not the chickens though.
I am sorry you got scratched, I am always cutting toe nails.. Dani is the worst
at scratching me.

Hi Beth,
I have been living in San Jacinto since 1995 but we originally moved here in
1987 but I went back to San Diego until 1995.
Sounds like you have your hands full with all those babies!
I had my dogs on the bed today and they started playing around and Lily jumped
on my face and scratched my nose and it bled for half an hour! They are sure a
handful sometimes but you gotta love em!
Thanks everyone for all of your tips.
Tracy

It is tough, but I know it is part of having these little one's. I have a new
baby to keep me busy, and to help with the healing. She is a 5 month old
Papillon. She is so darn cute, and smart too. Smidgens daughter is only 2.8lbs,
she is a pocket size chi, & she is 8yrs.  Dani is my long coat chi, she is a
year and a half, but she is a piggy, I think she is at least 10lbs. Then back
in April I rescued a 2 year old Papillon male Ori. He is a wonderful dog!  So
my 4 babies keep me busy! I also have 4 chickens.  I also own a horse. I have
owned Classy for almost 18 years, and sad to say I am having to re home her. I
was married for over 20 years, and had her in my back yard, but went through a
divorce 6 years ago, and I  have had to board her since. My hours were cut at
work so I can't afford the board fees any longer. I think I have found a good
home, will know in the next few days.
San Jacinto is close.. Have you lived here long?
Beth

Sorry to hear about your baby dying. I know it must be tough. I know you are
glad to have the others to keep you company.
I live in San Jacinto.

Smidgen past away a month ago today.  I still cry almost every day still. She
was my first chi. She was 9 & a half.  I have her daughter Chassis & my other
2. It helps to have them. Yes we are neighbors.  BethConnected by DROID on

Smidgens problem started when she was young also. She had hers rupture.  She
had a bad heart so surgery wasn't an option.  Highland is next to San
Bernardino. Connected by DROID on Verizon Wireless -----Original message-----

That is a good idea but I am hoping this is a one time problem. Since she is
2.5 years old and we have never had the problem before.
We are close! I think I past Highland on my way to Glendale a few weeks ago.
It's off the 15 freeway, isn't it?
Thanks, Tracy

I had the same issue with my Smidgen.  She past away a month ago today. Best
solution is to have the glands expelled often.  Take too the groomers to have
done. Cheaper then the vet. Tracy we are close.  I am in Highland Ca. I have 2
chi's & 2 Papillons. Connected by DROID on Verizon Wireless -----Original

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Hi, I am new here! Also a ? about the anal glands.

Hi Everyone! I am the mom to 2 chihuahuas. 1 named Lily who is 4 lbs and Bambi
who is 12 lbs. I love them so much! We live in Southern California, Riverside
County. It is 100 degrees here today! I am ready for winter! I have a question
for anyone who may be able to help me. My little girl, Lily had to go to the
vet last week. It cost me $100 which I can not afford. The problem was one of
the anal glands. It had an abscess and it looked like a big pimple on her
little bum:(. The doctor opened it and gave her a shot (you have never heard
something so small make so much noise) I have antibiotics to give her at home
as well. I have noticed her licking or biting at the sore. So, my question is
should I be doing something else for her? She is 2.5 years old and this is the
first time she has had the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I
don't want to have to take her back to the vet if I can help it. She will
probably flip out if she
sees him again so soon! LOL Anyway, thanks for reading this and any ideas
would be appreciated. Tracy in CA
