Tracy, I currently have two chis and a mix - two boys and a girl. I used to have a terrier/dachshund mix in the past with anal gland problems. He needed more fiber in his diet. Usually they express their glands when they poop, and if their poop is too small, the glands do not get expressed. You can feed her some chopped raw carrots and that will help.
Welcome to the group! Also a ? about the anal glands. Hi Mare, Thanks for the ideas. I have been trying the warm compresses as well, she does ok with it so I know it must feel good. I will just continue with the antibiotics and the warm compresses. My Lily is a smooth coat and is white with 2 brown spots on her back, looks like someone spilled coffee on her. Bambi is smooth coat and all tan. I know what you mean about loving them! I don't know what I would do without them! Lily is so lazy! I bought a dog stroller and now, she won't walk! I put her harness on her and she just stands there looking at me and then the stroller! Once in a while I can get her to walk to the mail box but she won't walk back, I have to carry her!!! Too funny! Bambi likes to run and walk, I don't put a leash on her most of the time. She is really a good dog and minds well. That's all for now. Thanks again, Tracy "Eye has not seen and ear has not heard, the things that God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Cor 2:9
