Well said, Stephanie.
As my vet says, my two Chihuahuas are doing very well, thriving on what they eat. He checks their teeth and everything else when I take them for a vaccine. Dolly was the animal hospital’s first ever ‘Pet of the Month’ and she won a bag of dog food. I had to take her for a vaccine a couple days later, and I asked him to take the bag of food and donate it to the local no-kill shelter because I really didn’t want to change what Dolly & Desi are eating. He said ‘yes, continue what you are doing because they are doing extremely well…good teeth, gums, coat, heart, etc.’
Now, I know that I don’t eat some things that other people eat. But that doesn’t mean that I am not eating good healthy food, just that my diet consists of different foods, but if they are keeping me healthy, then it is good. If someone else’s food (that I wouldn’t eat) is keeping them healthy, then it is good.
And, it really doesn’t matter if a Chihuahua is all, part, or none fennec fox…the important part is that they are loved, have adequate nutrition, and are not suffering any deficiencies.

Gonna post one thing. I lurk on this list for the most part. Been on it a long time. I don't participate and the reason I don't is because of these ridiculous arguments. Everyone has opinions and just because someone isn't as passionate as you are about how to feed, what is best doesn't mean the person isn't educated or caring for their Chihuahua! I don't need the aggravation of being publicly harassed and put down and most other members I think feel the same way. You know if someone posts that they are starving their Chi or are against spaying and neutering, by all means, jump on them, but differences in feeding and care should not be this HUGE! Judy, welcome to the list. You are obviously a good person with a good heart and you love your animals! I'm done. Back to lurking. But seriously think about it!! You turn good people away when you critique new members over everything simply because you want to sound intelligent! Is it really worth it to be right in your eyes? I feed my chis veggies and they are
super and doing fantastic. I've been in rescue for over 20 years. And you have no idea how many Chihuahuas I have owned and rescued! Stop trying to shove your obviously left of mainstream thoughts down everyone else's throats! If you believe in your feeding methods, by all means, go for it but recognize that it isn't what most people do and that's OK! Not in a million years would I feed raw! Done, out of here. Hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween weekend! Stephanie | ||||||
