We built a box, about 3 feet wide, three feet deep and two feet tall, with a door on one side to access the litter box, and a hole in the top (in a corner) for the cat to get in. We wrapped the box in carpet (except the door) and put the litter box inside (away from the entry hole so the cat could jump down on to the box floor). The cat was able to get in easily and the dogs left it alone.

The litter box's location must remain where it is so any suggestions on keeping him away from there? Tonight I mildly scolded him by bringing him back to the scene of the crime and letting him know that it wasn't a good idea to be in the pantry where the box is. Poco knows it is wrong because he acts guilty. Any suggestions on how to break this behavior? He's been doing this primarily recently and not the first few months after we adopted him. Alan
