Yes Judy, that was my solution as well. My dogs kept getting into the cat box and I tried everything but they just got very skilled at getting the treat and hiding it but there is no hiding the smell! Eeekkk. Anyway, so I put the box in a room and now use a gate. No more problem.

I use a doggie gate to keep the dogs from one room in which the cat box, cat food, etc. is. Works beautifully. The litter box's location must remain where it is so any suggestions on keeping him away from there? Tonight I mildly scolded him by bringing him back to the scene of the crime and letting him know that it wasn't a good idea to be in the pantry where the box is. Poco knows it is wrong because he acts guilty. Any suggestions on how to break this behavior? He's been doing this primarily recently and not the first few months after we adopted him.
