If someone wants to breed - it is their choice - however, AGREE with Judy -
there should be licensing, inspections, limitations, etc....to keep that
decision in check for the sake of that breed.
I have been a rescuer for 30 years.....I have mostly rescues of all species in
my house - from horrnedous situations due to overbreeding, lack of knowledge
when breeding a specific animal, neglect, 'back yard' breeders (just like many
of you I'm sure).
It's the 'bad' breeders that seem to ruin it for the reputable breeders who
actually do take care in how they breed. It's a shame. My Charlotte is from a
breeder ('hobby' breeder') - she's a wonderful dog.....I'd do it again if I
wanted (or had room) for another chi...
Everyone has their opinion on just about any subject - but we all have one
thing in common - we love our chi's - so we should all agree to disagree and
continue to enjoy the chatting about our little dogs that we have come to love
and allow to boss us around.

I think that it is not a personal decision. That allows uncontrolled breeding.
I would like to see licensing of breeders, inspections of their facilities,
including show and backyard breeders, and limitations to how many dogs/cats
they raise.

This list is about our love of our chihuahuas.
Some folks here have been in the dog world longer than others. Some folks have
been professional breeders. Some folks are life-long rescuers. Some just have a
family-member who happens to BE a chihuahua.
I have noticed the ones who jump on and say don't allow your pet chihuahua to
breed. Get them fixed ASAP.
Those with a differing view point seem mighty quiet. I'll probably get
blastedfor this but I disagree.
