Joan, Your dogs sound like some of mine. The bigger dogs with heavy coats go
out in any weather. The pug and pug mixes seem to like the time outside, for
running and playing in most weather. They even joined the bigger dogs (Cody
and Mary) to play in the inch of snow we had. Now Gabby hates going out if it
is at all cold. She is tiny and with a very thin coat.

Far left Becky, Joy, Jewell, Martha and the cat Sarah 1.19.12.JPGThis is not
even half of my babies. Starting at far left front: Becky, Joy, Jewell and
Martha. The kitten is Sarah.

Dolly stands by the door and smells…if it is too cold, if it smells like it has
or may rain, or if she can feel the wind gusts pushing the door open, she will
turn around and go to the puppy pad. Desi will actually go out in the
morning…not sure why…and he stays out a while so I think he is investigating as
he may go a little potty out there.

It's cold her too in Pittsburgh PA - Charlotte (my first chi - adopted in
November) doesn't go out - she's puppy pad trained (thank you all for the help
with that) - she'll go out when it's spring/summer and on nice Fall/Winter days
- but personally - if it's not 50 degrees - she doesn't need to be outside
unless she chooses to come out with me and my other two dogs-LizaJane and Timmy
(who go out in any weather). If she feels the 'chilly' when I open the door -
she runs to the furnace vent and waits for us to come back in (smart gal).

Lucky are those who have 'chi' weather all year long...
