I may be late on responding. Deer type have a more slender body and the snout is a bit longer and so they resemble a deer. Apple heads have a very round dome of their head, a shorter snout, and usually shorter legs and their eyes are a little bit bulgy. I think that most of our pets are most likely a mix of both types.Dolly has more deer type attributes, and I think that Desi.well he doesn't really look like either, but have been told that he looks like the original Chihuahuas when they were taller, they had the bigger heads and that was the norm.
