My sweet Smidgen was a dear chi, she had the dainty bone structure long legs, slim long nose, she really looked like a little dear. Her daughter Chassis is a apple type, as she has the short little nose large head and bulgy eye's short body and legs. I Love both looks, but I to favor the dear look.

I have had both kinds and the Deerhead that I had back in the 90's was the smartest dog I ever had. But I have loved them all.

Deer Head chis are generally larger with much longer legs and longer muzzles, bigger ears, and usually don't display the very round skull that an Applehead.
