Ann, I am so sorry to hear of his loss, please let him know that we
understand his pain and grieve with him. When my son lost his Eskie years
ago, he grieved so hard that he swore he would never get another dog again
because he feels they don't live long enough and it causes too much pain. To
this day he still refuses to get another dog.

I have often wondered why God chose to give them such a short life when they
give so much to us humans. In comparison, one of my parrots will be soon be
23 and the other 22, and although I love them, I would rather my dogs live
that long and longer.

My son Mike called me early afternoon.......his dachshund Luke was dead.
They had 2---Luke and DUke and they had some age on them. Luke had been
diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and for last weeks had been getting
treatment at NCSU Vet School.
They were at their beach house and Luke was getting worse so they drove
3hours home this morning to hospital and as they walked in door with Mike
carrying the dog, Luke died. It broke Mikes heart. We are all sad about this
