I had my 5 bypasses done 4 years ago. I recommend he goes on a mood pill, they put me on Effexor. It calms down the nerves & the worry allowing you to be calm for the surgeons. Yes I was on a vent, I think everyone is
with open heart by pass surgery.

This is a safe surgery now days. Back when my grandmother had hers about 50 years ago it was still a risky surgery. But now days it's an easy surgery. Tell him to listen to his docs and do all they say.

They did my dad's open heart surgery about 15 years ago, he came through it like a breeze.

I prayed for the surgeons to do a perfect job for all of us and they did. Now I'll pray for them to do a perfect job for your husband.

Just a quick note...my husband had the heart cath today...they found an aneurysm on a blood vessel on the heart...we meet with the heart surgeon in the morning to plan the surgery...I’m so upset...I try to be strong but I’m having a hard time...I’m update sometime tomorrow....I’m so sorry I haven’t been reading most of my email lately...I wore out...but want to thank you all again for your prayers and good thought...my nephew’s wife is a nurse...she said they will probably do a bypass. I’ve never had to deal with anything like this before. Dave seems pretty calm but I talked to him on the phone a while ago and I think he was upset. Got home from the hospital late tonight...my one son and one daughter stopped by...as well as my sister...we were all at the hospital...they just left...I’m gonn feed my cats their canned food...do their dishes and go to bed...I have to be up by 6 to be back at the hospital at 7. One question...my Aunt said the EVERYONE who has heart surgery goes on a vent....does anyone know if that’s true? That really scares me.
