My yorkie puppy was just 3 lbs when I had her spayed and she did just fine. 
When I got Stella, I wasn't 100% sure she was intact so I waited to see if she 
came in heat.  And she did.  First time I had ever experienced that, and the 
last!  I had her spayed as soon as possible, and my vet said her uterus was 
huge!  Poor little girl.  Anyway, she was under 4 lbs at the time, and she had 
no problems with recovery.  In fact she was back at work just a few days later. 
 I took 6 weeks off when I was spayed...lol
