Dear Lisa,
My advice to you is definetly call animal control, this way they pay a visit to
the owner and issue a warning. This documents a problem, and a warning may
encourage the owner to take action on correcting the problem of fence escape.
Otherwise, you will need to consider making adjustments on your side of the
fenceline to prevent the dogs from digging under and coming onto your property.
I will not poor mouth the breed, since we have a beautiful, loving pit, who
happens to think she is a chihuahua since she has been raised with ours. Pits
really do get a bad rap. Unfortunately for the breed, it is truly the owners
who are usually at fault when something goes wrong. Therefore, this being
said, your neighbor has to step up and be a responsible dog owner, especially
since they own the Pitbull breed.
If it were me, I think to ease my mind, I would secure my side of the fenceline
just to be sure.
Keep us posted. Watch out for yourself and your dogs.
