I really hate to belabor the point, but if you go to the cdc site, you get
pure stats, no prejudice.  Scroll down to the charts, mid-page.

Not huge numbers, only 116 people killed by pits which is twice the number
by any other breed.  However, if one of those 116 was your 3 year old child
or your 70 year old mother, it would matter.  And this report doesn't even
take into account the countless animals killed.

All I want to emphasize is keep your babies safe.

So sorry to go off topic so bad, but I just had to give a scientific reply
to the poster who claimed there was no evidence that pits are any more
dangerous than any other breed,and that it is only bad owners that are the
problem.
The cdc and other reports make it clear that a pit can kill without any
warning, with no prior history.
