I feed Liza Blue Seal brand Pork & Barley. It has no meat by-products-It is corn wheat and soy free.Has Ground flaxseed, sweet potatoes, blueberries etc. 24 % protein. Blue Seal has been around a very long time and I have fed it to her since last Dec. no problems. I will keep in mind the kidney stones and i would get her x-rayed if she gets like this again. I always put warm water in her kibble. What I have done is reduced her food now to 1/4 cup 2 times a day. She is 3 lbs overweight probably from table scraps which i have stopped now. I've stopped feeling sorry for her for having a dull diet. Even though she was eating this food fine before.
Liza is my 4th toy dog. I've had a chi mix, pekingese and a miniature pincher. All lived long lives. But my pekingese that I had awhile back had serious problems when I gave her a rawhide chew toy. It lodged in her intestinal track needing emergency treatment. So I never gave any raw hides to my dogs again. Instead I sometimes give Liza boiled soup bones. The little ones. That is what she chews on and she likes stuffed toys too. I don't shop at Walmart except for a few well made toys. But those are supervised too. Thanks for the heads up about bisquits. Pet Quarters sells bisquits but I have no idea where they are made or distributed but will check out. She hasn't had any for some months. I do give her carrots sometimes. Good discussion here. So glad to be back. Thanks so much. Margie --- In [email protected], Peggy & The Girls <phrpg5@...> wrote: > > Hi Margie, > > I would have been scared and ran to the vet too if I saw blood.
