Some breeders refuse to take responsibility for selling you a sick puppy. So, I would certainly take the word of the vet over the breeder. By now, you should have read my tale of woe with my baby. When he was diagnosed with Giargia, the vet told me to notify the breeder, because the entire litter needed to be treated. When I called, the breeder starting yelling at me and telling me his dogs were not sick. I also asked him to pay for the medications for the Giargia and he refused, saying "send the dam dog back to me". Of course you all could see me doing that! For your baby, I strongly recommend that you buy a tube of Nutrical (sp?) to have on hand. When he's not eating well, you can squeeze a little bit from the tube into his mouth. It is most important that he eats at least twice a day. Good luck.
