Sounds like an allergy. What are you feeding him now? Look for corn in the ingredients.

Our chihuahua has scratched himself raw. We took him to the vet. We changed food and treats, no table food. He was ok for 3 weeks. He scratched himself raw under his neck. Our vet is closed on weekends,we took him to a animal emergency center. We were given ointments plus a benedryl liquid . He lays his head down on the carpet and goes side to side to scratch his head area. Anyone experience similar symptoms?
