Some people are terrified by dogs even small ones. I hate spiders and my Mom
was terrified of them to the point a harmless one in our house was either I
kill it or we went to a motel. I agree the shooting was overboard but since she
let him roam possibly they had other loose dogs who roamed and/or he was one of
those garden proud people and the constant poop on his lawn made him nuts. One
doesn't get the whole story, maybe the Chi was aggressive.
