She sounds like a very independent girl. It's good that she bonded to Valentino. Guess that is what she feels she needs the most. Who knows, maybe she never had all of that loving as a pup, and was only part of a pack, and that is all she learned.

She does not do any lap sitting ever..will curl up next to you..and come up for quick pets here and there..but more a pack dog. She and Valentino have really bonded and sleep together in the crate at night and there is endless cleaning of eyes and ears. But she is a very good natured dog, house trained, smart, is not barky, and no trouble so it could have been worse.
