Welcome Melissa ! Thanks for rescuing a chi ! I have 4 Chis , 3 are rescues . They are like potato chips - you can't have just one ? Lol Chis are wonderful dogs , totally loyal and snuggly once they have bonded . Look for a dry food that has chicken as the first ingredient on the back label , Not corn . Small bites is good too but not necessary for all Chis . Small dogs can be nervous at first - you would be too if you were that small lol. Enjoy getting to know your new baby , ask away if any questions come up ! Send pictures !
