Get the proper shielded stuff.  It is available from any telephone supply
house.  There are special bonding clamps that clamp the foil shielding ay
each end.  The tough poly insulation coupled with the shield makes an
effective armor also.  Three or four inches deep is fine and can be done
manually with a flat shovel for short distances.
