yes, IR.

Those diodes all have three pins,

one ground and one each for the laser diode itself and a monitoring 
photodiode which can be used to control closed-loop the laser.

try www.farnell.co.uk for laser diodes in general and look for their 
datasheets. They have a huge library and the general data for such 
small power laser diodes ( power can be estimated by the laser 
warning label on the printer, the laser classes are specified by output 
power) should be quite similar independing of the make of the diode
