Interesting thread.
Back in about the 1977 timeframe I built my first micro-computer. It
consisted of a Motorola evaluation board with a MC6800 uP and some add on
memory and other boards that I wire wrapped up at the time for TTY (an ASR35
which I still have) and Kansas City audio tape interfaces. Lots of fun back
then.
I also have a paper tape line editor for the system in paper tape binary
format and a paper tape assembler that consists of two rolls of paper tape
for pass1 and pass2. Pass1 would input the source code and output a paper
tape pass file. Pass two ate the pass file and output an absolute binary
loader
file. Paper tape all over the room!!
Installed in the system is a Godbout EconoRam II memory board 8K x 8 that I
built from a kit. I also have at least one (maybe two) kits for these
boards still sealed in factory boxes that I never got around to building.
(Ambitious plans to take the system to 24K bytes of RAM!!!, no follow
through). The one that I built is fully socketed and has provisions for two
7805 regulators.
Each of these boards sports 64 each National Semiconductor MM2102AN-4L (8K x
1?) Static? RAM chips. Everything seems to bear a 1977 date code.
Given todays technology, these boards are of absolutely no use to me.
Anybody want some obsolete parts?? Make me an offer I can't refuse.
