More likely IGBT's, but what does the package look like, how many pins on
the drive side, what does the drive circuit look like, are there any 8-pin-opto's,
they are usally white.
Anyhow, replace IGBT's isn't that simple, specially when they are big, you
may have have to adjust software, you probably won't have access to it.

There aren't to much makers of IGBT's you might find out this way.
I have repaired quite a few inverter's, from small to big. From my experience
I can tell you, if the output module is blown, forget it, but it's a good source
of bit's and pieces.

I stuck my nose into a drive from a (Japanese?) Milling Machine, and

They all say No: 1604. The label shows a darlington class B stage made
with NPN Bipolar transistors, and with reverse diodes incorporated. It
runs from a DC bus. Absolutely no manufacturer's markings or logo, and I
smell a spacial part here. It's three phase ~200V phase to phase, so the
most believable guess at the '1604' bit would be 160Amps/400Volts

Can anyone throw me a bone with this one?
