If you read the previous comments, you may have realised I am repairing, not designing. I don't believe
JTAG is much use as a repair technique, especially when the manufacturer refuses to release any data..
I am willing to be corrected, but any non essential reading goes on a 6 month waiting list.

What I really want to do is tame the in circuit tester I have just bought. As for the board I mentioned
earlier, it looks like being a real job to test anything in circuit, buit that's because of the way it's laid
out. I am going to be left choosing the least evil hack to perform on it to enable circuit testing.
