CHODOSH BULLETIN ON THE YOSHON FLOUR PROBLEM
25 Mar 04
The following is relevant for the Metropolitan New York area only. I
apologize to others for bothering them.
List of Yoshon bakeries and their situations
As I noted in the previous urgent Chodosh Bulletin, some of the flour
from one of the major mills supplying Yoshon to the metropolitan New York
region was found to have instances of worm contamination. As a result,
many bakeries that were until now supplying Yoshon had to switch to new
Chodosh flour. The following is a partial list of which bakeries are
still supplying Yoshon and which had to switch to Chodosh in the greater
New York area.
The list below is currently true to the best of our knowledge. However,
the Yoshon flour situation is very much in the state of flux now and may
change on a short notice. If there is any difference between the
information given here and the information given by the baker, check with
the owner or the management of the bakery (not the clerk behind the
counter.) The information provided by the management should be regarded
as the most current and valid.
WARNING: Some groceries are not up to date on these changes. They may, in
error, claim that some products are Yoshon, when the bakery has already
stated that they had become Chodosh. It is always wise to check with the
bakery producing the products in question.
Wholesale:
