Comment #2 by mkterra: I actually like the Omnibar's current selection behavior. It's standard on Windows, matching the behavior of Firefox and IE's address bars. Whenever I run into the behavior you describe on Safari, I always select the wrong half of the URL because I reflexively drag left and slightly down. It's the same problem I have with the current single-line text box behavior. The Safari behavior makes it trickier to select a segment in the middle of the line. You have to move perfectly horizontal, otherwise you end up selecting an entire half of the URL. (The issue is even more important for text boxes in web pages, where you usually *don't* want to erase an entire half of the line you wrote.) The current Windows-standard behavior allows for more casual movements to get the selection you want, and it's still simple to select an entire half just by "throwing" your pointer across the screen. Incidentally, both the About window and the Report Bug textbox have really weird highlighting behavior.
