I've created a couple of gifs to illustrate the multi-line text box
problems.
The single-line text box behavior is stranger and less consistent. The
selection
flickers between right and left as you drag. (Starting from the middle,
try dragging
a circle around a single-line box, compared to in Firefox or IE. Chrome
seems to
invert its selection at random places along the circle, whereas the other
two simply
highlight according to the cursor's horizontal position.)
