Hashing is an interesting idea, but short URLs consisting of only a  
hostname would
likely be easy to brute-force. Worse, if an attacker is interested in  
knowing whether
you use incognito mode for a given site (meaning you probably visit it  
sometimes),
all they have to do is try to hash it and see if it matches. It would only  
be secure
for long URLs with unpredictable parameters, but then... you likely  
wouldn't be
typing those URLs in the address bar!
