Hmm, I am not able to reproduce this from my desktop. 7z has a nice
feature where it
will "test" an archive and report anything weird. Using 2.0.163.0
(Developer Build
9751) I went to
http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-xp/ and
downloaded the zip then tested the archive. All clear. I thought maybe
there was a
subtle problem with Vista's extraction so I tried that as well. All clear.
I also tried
http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/continuous/2008-10-21/3695/chrome-
win32.zip and it also worked.
Are you going through a proxy server?
On a related topic, why would you do these downloads instead of letting us
update you
automatically? You can get on the dev channel if you want the latest and
greatest.
