Comment #14 on issue 16787 by [email protected]: Java Plugin not working http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=16787
I looked into this (I don't know much of anything about the Java plugins), so for future reference here are some notes. npjp2 is "the Next-Generation Java™ Plug-In Technology" https://jdk6.dev.java.net/plugin2/ It appears to be frequently referenced as the way to get 64-bit browser support, but I think that's just because it's newer (and it came with Java 1.6, maybe?). I found a bug report for Midori (also WebKit-based) that referenced a bug which seems to have been closed without comment in the Sun bug tracker: http://bugs.sun.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=6805102 There may be Ubuntu-specific install problems related to java plugins: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sun-java6/+bug/288397 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sun-java6/+bug/291135 Can someone paste what about:plugins in Firefox says about the _oji and npjp2 plugins? Also, how did you install these plugins? -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
