Great, but it still requires editing and recopiling source code, which translators seldom do. Maybe a drop-in replacement for _ could make use of row/column/file/function name to fetch a translation? That burden could be moved from translators, developers, and ticket admins and onto a software that takes all translations and compiles a translation data file (maybe a huge somewhat redudant hash table pointing to an array of unique strings).
