"Again, the automatic updates are not broken" Ehm, yes they are, at least for some people who, like me, are behind a proxy that needs authentication. It's a known problem and it's the reason there is a "--new-http" option in the current Dev build. But there is a chicken and egg problem, to get the new update I'm forced to use a mechanism that is built upon older code that doesn't know how to get past the proxy.
The only reason I'm running Chrome at all is because I found a link to a direct download of the "real" installer, not the stub that you download from the website and which then proceeds to download the rest. So now I would like to try the Dev version to see if our proxy problems have been solved with the "--new-http" option or not. But for that I need a link to the actual installer (which I'm pretty sure must exist).
