Re-install will not lose your bookmarks (uninstall does not delete the User Data). To be safe, you can backup of this directory: C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data (if you are on Windows Vista the path is a bit different). ** Things you can try ** 1. Open the windows task manager kill any "chrome.exe" that are running (in case chrome is hung and windowless) 2. Check the shortcut you are using to launch chrome is valid + Verify that the target exists and is the chrome.exe binary + Verify which command line options are being passed to chrome.exe (clear them if any) 3. Check the event log (eventvwr) for any chrome errors under Application. 4. Try starting chrome.exe with the --no-sandbox flag. 5. Try starting chrome.exe with the --user-data-dir=c:\tmp-profile flag. (this will use a new profile so you won't see your bookmarks if it works). 6. Reinstall chrome. 7. Try asking this question in help forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome Hope that helps.
