Using the same keys for searching and for scrolling through results sounds to me *easier* than using a combination that involves another side of the keyboard (and the opposite hand for going back). I also find uncomfortable to hit the [shift]+[enter] combination with my right hand and will probably tend to hit it with both hands (which is a waste of resources).
