Generally, since the dev version is released in a very timely manner (every week or so), with unsure features, it is likely that not everything is translated by the time the dev release is released, though, you can probably expect the features that are more likely to stay, to get translated in a timely fashion (though, after the dev release) as well. So I would say, though without any reliable source or demonstration, that one or two weeks after the strings get introduced, they are translated. And so, I guess you do not have to worry about such case existing for so long. Can you list some of the untranslated elements (I am just interested)?
