I may have talked in a defensive\complaining way earlier and I apologize, it
is probably due to the fact that such idea was discussed before (customizing
the icon of the bookmarks) and the answer was a straight "No".

Yes, what I meant to is the ability to change the icon for bookmarks (or, at
the least, for bookmarks with no icons - that have the default one).

I guess he was originally talking about the scenario where you add a
bookmark and it does not have an icon before you actually go to that website
(at least that is how it is when you add a bookmark manually).
