In the spirit of David Kyle's notion of exposing some of the demons of the internet to the cleansing sunlight of reason, we have just posted on the Churchill Centre website a rebuttal to an article which appeared on November 18th in 'Media with Conscience', in which Gideon Polya attempts to lay the guilt for the Bengali Famine firmly at Churchill's feet. In doing so he also manages to regurgitate almost every one of the other tired old Churchill myths, with a degree of vituperation which makes Clive Ponting sound like a man at peace with himself.

I did indeed find the passage selectively taken and posted on a web site dedicated to fear of the Illuminati. And yes my postings were tongue in cheek, but since I came to the USA I have found dedicated Churchilians who will sit for hours and discuss the man in great detail and to a degree of minutia that is wonderful ......... But they are mostly old men and women (with greatest respect to the ladies present) and truth be told their knowledge will die with them. I see it already. I am not a rich person so cannot fund to any significant amount the Churchill Centre youth education work. Yet I still manage to get the great man into conversations at dinner, at breaks in business meetings, and in general day to day life, without ( I hope anyway) of being a one pony show. Many people read what is on these postings and I am sure they take away snippets here and there, maybe even use them one day. So with the forbearance of the list censors/moderators I will continue to post stuff from sites that are promoting what Mr. and Mrs Langworth are too polite to call rubbish and or lies.
