I wonder if Prof. Jim Muller might shed some light himself on what he
understands is the present status and schedule for publication. Has he finished
all of his work and that it is simply in the hands of the publisher? Are there
any wrinkles that would be worth knowing about to assuage frustrations?

Since Prof. Muller is doing it, we can expect that it will be (a) definitive,
and (b) well-organized and put together.? Believe me, this is not a combination
often seen in scholarly works.? I sometimes think one requirement for a PhD is
to have flunked English composition.

?

I am certainly not surprised at the delay.? Scholarly publishers seem to have a
cavalier disregard for economics - the plebian idea that you might actually
want to sell books (and therefore push to get them in the grubby hands of the
Great Unwashed as rapidly as possible).? A friend of mine has a scholarly
publication?(from a different publisher) which has been "due out in a couple of
months" for lo these many moons.? I remember he was correcting the galleys over
three years ago!? Latest reading of the runes is this coming May.? I'm not
sending in my pre-order yet.

?

We just have to wait and hope we haven't passed on to the Great Bookstore in
the Sky before it is finally published.? I'm sure Prof. Muller is far more
frustrated than any of us are.
